CHAPTER 6

Which industries were the first to establish standard RFID technology? In about 100 words, state why, in your opinion, these industries were more interested in RFID tag technology than other industries.

RFID is stand for Radio Frequency Identification Device. It is a generic term for technologies that use radio waves to automatically identify people or objects. The first industries establish standard RFID is Guard RFID Solutions Inc and the first one used is Zahir Abji and Ally Mullani since in 2007.

The functions of RFID can works a small chip used to track inventory. RFID tag is passive and does not require power source. For examples, RFID and Barcode. RFID can scan multiple items but barcode scanned one item. Using automation and accuracy by barcode exactly manual read errors, however RFID is highly accurate.

In my conclusion is better use RFID because it’s more safety for the identity to hack by someone. It is also can track, locate and protect equipment, materials, patients and personal enhanced workflow and security solutions.

CHAPTER 5

Q1: Define "direct materials" and "indirect materials". List reasons for a large company having two separate departments to manage the purchasing of each.

Direct materials is a raw materials and other purchases that become a part of the units produced and incur expenditures that are easily traced to the units of output and included in the cost of goods sold. As opposed to indirect materials, such as office supplies. indirect materials is a materials, purchases and supplies used in the operation of the business, not directly associated with production and are part of operating expenses. As opposed to direct materials.

For examples a laptop. some of the largest shop sells their laptop including extra gifts such as bag, mouse, paddle pad, brushes, cooling fan, pen drive, screen protector and others. This all accessories items is to get the point for advertising and attract the customer to buy a laptop. a laptop is direct material and accessories laptop is indirect material. the two materials joining together, its become more advantages to attract the customers.

Large company having two separate departments because of their on regulation systems which were provided. a large company have their own department and duties. make items such as manufacturing, marketing, packaging, shipping and others. its impossible for the large company to do all many things which create one departments. so that it can more easily to maintain and make a proper procedures.

Q2: In about 200 words, describe the reasons a buyer might have for wanting to participate in an industry consortium marketplace instead of setting up its own private company marketplace.

The reason is to attract more customers to come in. The marketing consortium provides companies with professional, full-service marketing communications services and consulting expertise. Consortium is a combination of individual entities engaged in a joint venture; the firm was founded on the principles of integrated marketing communications, bringing together different disciplines in pursuit of a common purpose the success of their clients.

The marketing consortium has advantages and disadvantages. For examples, I have my own restaurant stall and my friend also have it. I am an expert in food and my friend expert in drink. We plan to joint venture to attract more customers and save money to rent the stall. The most popular menu is ‘Ayam Penyet’ and the main menu from my friend is ‘Pearl Milk Tea’. I have loyal customers come to dine at my stall and my friend also have it. So, we advertise our menu to customer and at the same time, we share our regular customers to attract more customers coming to our booth. We share the cost of the rental restaurant stall, bills of electricity, water, telephone, save energy and others.

However the disadvantage is we have big problems because of the not understanding, clashed with each other, dishonest, untrustworthy and others. In this case, our business will be not longer to continue and it will be drop.

In my conclusion is before we want to joint venture, we must to be a mutual understanding of each other, honestly and the most important is trust. Once the customer not believes you, it will be forever. Lastly, the company must expert about the products and skills to advertise and sell it.

The customers can come to the stores directly and can also look through the website. They also advertise a product its published articles in newspapers, advertising papers given to the public and placed on a special wall for advertising.

In my research, that disappointed I was part stores do not update it got new things once in their websites. This is one of utter neglect because they do not care about their website. Also because the client does not know what their newest sale in stores. This is their weakness.

In my opinion, I personally prefer to see in their stores any updates. I can see how the situation around the shop and how the service is. I am satisfied there and try to choose the item how it functions is stable or not. This is my opinion but how about opinion you guys?

Question 2:

The main reason is that the internet can communicate anywhere, regardless of time and place. The people can be in touch with family, friends outside the country and around the world via email, facebook, twitter, blogs and others. This opens the space for the vendors to make promo goods sold in domestic and abroad. I understand that the population in Brunei is one of the top country once use Southeast Asia facebook. This proves that the internet is very useful to all people and adults and not forgetting to active teenagers surf the Internet. The solution is easy to access internet and fun.

Here I just wanted to share some of the foreign reserve. This is the source of my friend who was recently sailed in KL. He reserves a hotel in KL, but he canceled orders because he was able to other hotels. He book online with ‘‘Booking.com” website. In the short story, when he had returned from a cruise. He reviewed his account and found money accounts are exhausted. After being found'' Booking.com'' has taken the money in his account when he had to cancel the booking and cuts the bill, he was still in KL. Strongly recommend the bank to change the credit card. So be careful when ordering and check it is right first.

At the website, all kinds of methods that appear there. We know of only choose what we want. Disadvantage is the system down, lagging, make the customers waited too long, their system did not access for the payment via online.

Question 4:

Customer-centric is to create web site that is centered on customer wants and needs. To get the sense of businesses are realize that focus their site on customer benefits and make certain of its visitors a good experience are key drivers of sales, honestly, and mouth by mouth advertising. To consider the needs and preferences of their customers benefit, we can make decisions on the content, presentation, design and processes that can be found on website more effective.

It is so difficult to accomplish because of not to satisfied information in detail about the product, the website not update, not trustworthy, there is no secure the goods safe to the buyer. Some of the customer did not familiar about the website and almost all the people use the internet for the social network.

Question 5:

Promoting products on the web is difference from using mass media promotion or personal contact. Let’s talk about using mass media promotion, it have many ways to promote the fishing rod products such as Radio, Television, news paper, screen advertising board and so on. The advantage is many people see the advertisement with a nice look and advanced. The customer always see and listening the advertise on mass media and familiar about that, so it can be more chances the item will sold. The disadvantage is a lot of money can be used to advertise that products because of the high value rental. Advertisement is displayed is not concerned with time and the audience. May ad is displayed during the animation movie story and the audience is mostly younger children.

By using personal contact, the ways of promoting the product is through relatives, easy exist customer and mouth by mouth promotion. In there, family or friends can help expose their products thought consumer to consumer. The customer can actually see the goods, if customers interested they buy on the spot. The disadvantage is rising on spending telephone credit; more spend on car fuel, energy, limited number of buyer and non-guarantee buyer.

A web site is a depository of information destined for public or private use, usually residing in a remote server. Advertising thought the website; there have advantage and disadvantage. The advantage is a seller not worry about the rental expenses by using BlogSpot, new buyer trend for example social network as a platform. The disadvantage is not all the customer knows the website link, network slowdown, lagging, the customer cannot trust the website, not many choices.

In my conclusion, I prefer to use the website by using the BlogSpot because it’s cheaper than others. I will advertise my fishing rod using the facebook and give the link of my blogspot because almost the people have a facebook. So I can invite them and I always update my blog, update the latest one of the fishing rod. So the customers have a choice and the fishing lovers do not miss the opportunity to view my blogger and buy it.

SWOT ANALYSIS

Introduction:

Pizza Hut Started its operations in Brunei Darussalam in june 1993 when Olive Tree Corporation was established as the franchisee for Pizza Hut. Olive Tree  Corporation Sdn. Bhd. is a wholly Bruneian owned company.
PIZZA HUT BRUNEI DARUSSALAM...!!!
June 1993.......Pizza hut Gadong
Sept 1995.......Pizza Hut Muara
May 2000........Pizza Hut Sengkurong
June 2000.......Pizza Hut Mentiri
June 2000.......Pizza Hut Tutong
Dec 2000........Pizza Hut Bunut
May 2001........Pizza Hut Jln. Sultan
July 2001........Pizza Hut Kuala Belait
June 2002.......Pizza Hut Seria..

Strengths:
In Pizza Hut, they provide some extra service, extra smile, stay comfortable, great food and also free download internet 24 hours. They served in Full Dinning Restaurant, Take away or Pick-up, and also they deliver door to door.
They have promotion on Tuesday or exactly called ''Double Tuesday''. In that day, anyone want to buy Pizza Hut for 1 piece and they will get free 1 more piece and that is called a ''Double Tuesday''.

Other than that, they also have additional menu like Roasted Chicken Wings and they give half price only on Wednesday.

I think this company will be stable in Brunei market because all the Bruneians people loved to eat Pizza Hut. Some goes to me, i like Pizza Hut Tuna Flavour hehe *peace.

Weakness:

Pizza Hut is identified as the largest users of cheese that affects the pizza hut branches that lack the supply of cheese. The problem with alternatives is eventually identified buy the customers and there is a narrow choices for substitutes. Other than that, the company reported that they incurred high cost in term of their productions; the root of this problems is on the intense competition and their pizza reinvention just to satisfy the taste buds of the customers. As a results, the overhead cost pushed the restaurant branches to have additional charge, not knowing that because of their action, there is more probability to lost most of their customers.

Opportunities:

Pizza hut opened lost of doors throught their pizza reinventions or product innovations. This is evident in the increase of the revenue and increasing brand loyalty with their customers. Their service and products are outstanding and offered new taste combinations and expansion of the varieties of menus also touched their pastas, beverages, and desserts. As said earlier, the opportunity is also part of marketing strategy of the company to provide the proper utilization of the technology through their online-ordering system. The use of landline is still viable but the evolving world of technology where almost 70% of their customers is sitting in front of the computer gives the company bright ideas to establish their relation with them, and their customers' own convenience.

Threats:

Many companies are bothered by the high competition and Pizza Hut is not different from those companies. Competition really gets the firms to push their limitations and bush up the needed investment just to answer the risky competition. Pizza Hut is also concerned with their customer satisfaction and most of the extensive researched and development allotted to the need of the customers. The roles of the prices, promotions, advertisements, and the delivery system make the competition too risky and lead the customers in some series of confusion. When there are many options, the customers find it hard to choose and sometimes lead to dissatisfaction.

Conclusion:

Trough the intensive market consultation of the company, the marketing techniques are integrated and applied in different branches. In return, the efforts will be mimicries by the competitors. The added marketing strategy of the company called "take-out order'' is another measurement of their effectiveness in the society. This is an indication that even if the person in at home, he or she still in search for the product they offer. Their success in on-going innovation both results in good and bad but with their objective to satisfy their customers needs and wants is a quality of service that every firms should adopt.
